Celina was born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area. She began her dance career at the young age of four and her passion only grew with age. At nine years old she was training in all styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, musical theatre and tap at various dance studios in the Lower Mainland including Spiral Dance Co in White Rock and Dance In Motion in Abbotsford. At fourteen she started attending the Langley Fine Arts School where she majored in dance to consistently focus on her craft during the school day where she also found an interest in choreography. Upon high school graduation she felt as though it was important to continue her training but had gravitated towards hip-hop and street styles. She then joined Vancouver based urban dance company, "Kill The Lights" run out of Harbour Dance Centre under the direction of Ken Yung and Shauna Smith. While every aspect of KTL played a key role in Celina's growth as a dancer it was the teaching component that really sparked her interest which ultimately led to the decision of pursuing a career in choreography and teaching. Since completing two years of training with KTL Celina has been teaching at multiple studios in the Lower Mainland including Studio One Dance Centre, The danceLAB Studios and Street Kings Academy. She is looking forward to building a career both in choreography and teaching while still continuing to train as a dancer herself.
