From Prehistoric to Contemporary Art, our class will put famous works of art under the microscope and discover all of the artist’s secrets! Have you ever looked at a painting and wondered, “how on Earth did they do that?” In this class, our Art Detectives will investigate the process that artists underwent to create some of the most well known masterpieces throughout history. We will look at what materials were used, what techniques produced the different effects, and what inspired the artist to create these pieces in the first place! We will then take everything we have learned about each piece and create our own works of art using similar processes and ideas.
This class will explore various types of three-dimensional media in fun and hands-on lessons. Students can experiment with new materials and techniques while also learning about famous artists throughout history. Activities will include clay building, paper mache, assemblage art and much more!
